CIT Application

The Counselor in Training (CIT) program at Tomahawk Scout Reservation has been designed to develop the future staff members for Tomahawk and to provide personal development for Scouts. The program is is three weeks. CIT's arrive on a Sunday afternoon. For the first 5 days they would go through leadership, teambuilding, outdoor skills, and job specific skills training. They would all camp together. This training week experience would end with an outpost/reflection exercise. The next day they are divided into their sub-camp groups and move into their sub-camps for the remaining 3 weeks.

The CITs go through all the same basic training the staff do, including outdoor skills, and Lifeguard BSA. They would also be put through a number of teambuilding exercises (COPE, Service Project, Outpost trek), There would be an emphasis on how to teach a skill and how to manage groups of scouts. Conflict Management, etc. These have not be offered in the past through direct training. The staff conducting much of the training will oversee CIT development through the rest of their session.

$75 per CIT
