Family Island

We are your fun-filled, affordable vacation destination. At our Family Island, we offer programs and facilities for families so that you can see what your boys are enjoying here at Tomahawk Scout Reservation. We offer cabins for rent, wonderful tent camping sites, and an recreational vehicle area. Reservations are available and we encourage all Scout families to come and enjoy a week at Tomahawk while your troop is in camp or when the entire family can enjoy a vacation.

Program   |   Facilities   |   Policies and Reminders

The Family Island Staff has created a unique and exciting program to help make your experience at Tomahawk one to remember.  The following is a list of the activities that are available to Family Island campers.

Family Island campers can swim at Navajo Beach complete with floating raft, rowboats, canoes, and fishing equipment. In accordance with BSA policy, all participants must complete a swim check at Navajo beach to determine each swimmer’s ability. If you cannot make it to a scheduled swim check time, you may schedule a time with the Navajo beach staff. The Family Island beach has a floating raft, canoes, and kayaks for your family to enjoy. A dock is available, which can fit two fishing boats.  If you are interested in bringing a boat to use during your stay, please contact the Reservation Director for approval.

Horse Rides
Horse rides are available to Family Island campers throughout the week.  All rides are conducted at the White Pine horse corral. Rides can be scheduled with the Family Island Director. Long pants and closed-toed shoes are required to ride.  All riders must be six or older to ride.
