Family Island Facilities

We are your fun filled, affordable vacation destination. Tomahawk Scout Reservation offers programs and facilities for families at our Family Island. We offer cabins for rent, wonderful tent camping sites, and an recreational vehichle area. Reservations are available and we encourage all Scout families to come and enjoy a week at Tomahawk while your troop is in camp or when the entire family can enjoy a vacation.

Family Island has ten available cabins for your family to enjoy.  Each cabin has beds, a kitchenette and a full bathroom.  BSA registered scouting families may camp at Family Island. The cabins will be reserved for the entire week which runs Saturday to Saturday, June through August in advance using the reservation form found under the resource tab.   • Sleeping accommodations for 6 people: 2 bunk beds and a futon couch. 
  • Kitchens with two burner stove, sink, refrigerator, dishes, pots, pans, a toaster, and a coffee maker.
  • Full bathrooms with flush toilet, shower, sink, and hot running water. 
  • Use of the picnic area and jungle gym equipment. 
  • Planned activities by the Family Island staff. 
  • Provide your own food and cooking

Please note: linens or a cleaning service are not provided.

Tent Sites

There are several tenting campsites.  

Recreational Vehicle Sites

Four families can be accommodated each week in the RV site area located on Family Island. There are campsites for trailer campers, mobile units, and tent campers. All campers/RV’s that are brought to camp MUST have a reservation and be parked at Family Island in a reserved site.

NOTE: 20 amp electrical hookups are available in the RV sites, however, there are no water or sewer hookups. Site #4 has a 50 amp outlet.


The Family Island beach has a dock, diving raft, canoes, kayaks, rowboats, and a paddle boat.
